So this was a first attempt at a Lemon Cake, per the request of a customer of course! But since our batters always leave a little extra you know we had to taste…………..mmmmmmmm! And neither of us are real lemon cake lovers but man this cake is delicious. Lemon curd filling in between each layer and lemon butter cream frosting, you’d think it would be lemon overload, but no it’s perfect. The cake and the frosting only have a hint of lemon and the lemoniest part is the curd (which I think is an ugly word, just sounds kinda gross) but the lemony of the curd balance out the sweet of the frosting and it’s just scrumptious! Don’t mean to toot the old horn but hey when it’s good it’s good!
